FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The American Association of Interpreters and Translators in Education Published the First-Ever Nationwide Analysis of Job Descriptions For Interpreters and Translators in Education

Denver, Colorado, March 22, 2023 — The American Association of Interpreters and Translators in Education (AAITE) is proud to announce the completion and publication of the first-ever nationwide analysis of job descriptions for interpreters and translators in K–12 educational settings.

In support of its mission to advance the professionalization of interpreters and translators in K–12 education throughout the United States, AAITE created a Job Task Analysis (JTA) Committee in early 2020 to lead a nationwide analysis of the current knowledge, skills, duties, tasks, responsibilities, and working conditions of today’s interpreters and translators in K–12 education. The first task of the JTA Committee was to find and analyze job descriptions and open job postings for interpreters and translators published by a wide range of school districts across the nation. Over 21 months, the JTA Committee collected and analyzed more than 300 job descriptions representing all 50 states, which resulted in a 43-page report titled What Employers Are Looking For: A Nationwide Analysis of Job Descriptions for Translators and Interpreters in Educational Settings.

The report, which is available here, contains a detailed analysis of key elements within collected job descriptions, including educational requirements, interpreting and translation duties, and compensation.

The American Association of Interpreters and Translators in Education (AAITE) is a nonprofit professional association for interpreters and translators who work in educational settings, along with interested stakeholders and other allies. AAITE promotes the highest standards for interpreting and translation in educational settings. AAITE is laying a true foundation for a bona fide specialization in educational interpreting and translation.

I accessed the report once, but it did not download. I've been trying to access the report since, and I keep getting the following message: "You have already completed this form. This form does not allow multiple submissions". Could please assist me with the issue?
